5 Tips for Properly Juggling Multiple Bosses

When you work as a PR professional, you have to work with many different types of clients on a daily basis. Juggling all of these varied clients can be difficult unless you handle it correctly. Here are a few tips on figuring out how to deal with different types of clients (or bosses).

1. Don’t Use “One Size Fits All” Approach

If you have many different types of clients, you cannot approach them all in the same way. Try to use different strategies with each one, based on the type of client they are. For example, the PR strategy that you use for massage therapy schools may not necessarily work with high-end legal firms.

2. Take Advantage of Technology

Thanks to technology, it is possible to keep track of many different projects without missing out on anything important. For example, you may want to use a project management software like Basecamp to make sure that you take care of all of your jobs properly.

3. Don’t Rely on Memory Alone

Many people who have good memories think that they can simply remember everything that they need to do for their customers. Even if you have a great memory, you should use some kind of system to remind you of the things that you need to do for clients. This could be as simple as putting a reminder in your smartphone.

4. Focus on One Thing at a Time

When you so many clients, it can be tempting to try to do multiple tasks at the same time. If you really want to be able to provide the best service, you have to focus on one thing at a time. Give it your all, and then move on to the next thing.

5. Listen to the Customer

If you have a lot of clients at one time, you may be tempted to try to tell customers what they need. Resist this temptation and let them tell you what they need first. You can then provide your expertise.

If you’ll keep some of these tips in mind, you should have a much better time working with many different clients at the same time. Having a lot of clients in today’s economy is definitely a good thing, so do everything you can to keep them.
